I wanted to comment on the recent write-up in Armchair Lehigh Valley to clarify my views on the recent Welcoming Cities legislation. I support any role that City Council can play in ensuring that all our neighbors know their rights and feel safe and welcome in our city. As I stated in my response to the Armchair questionnaire, “Allentown can—and should—manage how its resources are utilized and should do so in a way that protects and supports everyone who calls our city home.” This includes my support for the recent legislation and the continued use of the practices that were in place prior to the recent legislation. - Jeremy
